I am on long term disability and cannot ever work again. My employer wants to fire me, thus cutting off my medical benefits. I am a 30 year employee, can they do this? For clarity, I am doing this research for a friend as they as currently upset.

You’ve actually connected to our Long-Term Disability (LTD) department, as opposed to our employment team – and this would really be an employment matter.

I recommend using our free employment questions website (www.terminationquestions.com) as a starting point instead.

That said, if you're ever cut-off LTD (hopefully not!), or if you ever have an LTD-related question, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
