I'm on long-term disability I've been with my company for 25 years I'm permanently disabled and will not be returning to work according to my doctors I'm not 65 yet I'm in my late 50s my company has approached me and said they want to release me and give me a severance package however they told me that my pension that's been accumulating for all these years will be added into my severance package I feel this is illegal it will be reducing my severance package my pension money should be separate why would they reduce my Severance include my pension money as a full all-inclusive payout doesn't make sense and my long-term disability payments are good until 65 separate from the company my problem is paying me out from the company including the pension money moniting my Severance money I think it's pretty shady I don't think it's legal am I correct

I recommend using our free employment questions website (www.terminationquestions.com) as a starting point.
That said, if you're cut-off LTD for any reason (hopefully not!), please contact us right away for a free consultation with a lawyer.
