My insurer asked me to apply for CPP disability so I have. I was denied mainly because I didn't have an update from any doctor besides my family doctor since the beginning of 2021. My family doctor and myself have been trying to get an update from a specialist. However they keep rejecting the referral saying that the diagnosis has already been made and that they don't do ongoing follow-up; the nature of my condition is neurological. I have already appealed the CPP disability application and my doctor and I have been continuing to do referrals. Recently I decided to try perhaps a physiatrist versus a neurologist referral to see if that might speed things up. And I should clarify that I have been following the suggested treatment plan with the relevant therapists.
Appreciate all of your advice!

Under certain LTD policies, you have a duty to appeal CPPD, but under other LTD policies you do not. It depends on the terms of your specific policy. We also handle CPPD appeals here, if that is in fact the best course for you to take (which depends). There are some nuances to this analysis though.
I'm going to email you directly about this to discuss your options.
