I have been on LTD for almost 2 years for Chronic Kidney disease and am waiting for a kidney transplant. My two years of LTD will be coming up at the beginning of February and my doctor has told me that I am not able to return to any type of work, however my insurance company is telling me that it is not up to my doctor and it is up to them whether or not I remain on LTD. Is this correct, can they force me back to work even if my doctor says absolutely not?

The decision to return to work should ultimately be made between you and your doctors. That said, the insurance company may disagree with your decision and cut you off of benefits anyway. This is in fact what has happened to most of our clients.

I'm going to email you directly to see if we can assist further.
