Unfortunately my job is not there anymore the company has closed down as of a year ago ..so can they cut me off after my two years is up cuz I have no job to return to or do they have to retrain me for different career Answer: If at the 2 year mark you cannot work in any occupation for which you're suited for by training, education or experience then your LTD should continue. The availability of a job is not the issue. The issue is whether you can work in another occupation for which you're suited for. Typically that means that if you can do another job where you can earn about 60-65% of your pre-disability income then your LTD won't continue.
