I have my psychiatric appt in a couple of weeks and the insurance wants to set me up with a occupational therapist assessment but I have told them I have to get my doctors approval first. Can I refuse to see the OT if they book the assessment before I see my doctor?

You can’t refuse an assessment or they’ll cut you off but it’s reasonable for you to want to speak with your doctor first. Insurers often pressure claimants to see their assessors very quickly. The issue if you refuse is that they may cut off your benefits. If that happens make sure to call or email me ASAP at my contact info below and we will help.
