My husband was on manulife disability for just shy of 2 years. We have an agreement letter from them when he was first disabled..this outlined his monthly payment amount and also stated that his life insurance premiums would be waived while he was on L.T.D. there was also a policy for accidental death and dismemberment.
Sadly my husband passed away last Saturday the 23rd of November. I contacted them to advise that he had passed (therefore not receiving his monthly payment, which i know would have to be returned) they transferred my call to claims dept where i was told they have no record of him having coverage. I am his legal wife and on cpp disability earning barely $900 a month. We bought a home and have a mortgage. Without this life insurance I will be living in a cardboard box. What are my rights? Where do I go from here? Im so lost without him and certainly do not need this extra stress while suffering through this difficult time.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
