I find it very difficult to get answers from Sun Life while on LTD. Is this normal or a sign that they are stalling because I am needing the point I cannot return to my current position?

It’s very possible that they are gearing up to cut you off. Make sure you confirm in writing (email is fine) to the adjuster that they are being non-communicative.
