Hi one of my employees had a motorcycle accident and will be hospitalized for several months at least. How long do we keep paying his full salary and what commitments do we have to pay anything else? we continue to pay his insurance I assume. Thank you

Thank you for your question. You do not have to pay salary or continue the benefit coverage for an employee that is off work, unless you have a written policy that you do so. If he has been off work and you've continued his benefit coverage, you should give him advance notice that benefits will be cut off until he is ready to return to work. It is best that you call us at the number below, for a aproper consultation, before you do anything.
